Game Time!

Bill and I love to play games - board games, cards, all sorts.  As we repurpose the space in our house, comfortable places to play games, inside and out, became a priority.  We sold our huge oval wrought iron table and 6 massive chairs that were on the porch to opt for something more suited to the two of us.  Our breakfast room had the high table and 2 barstools, but getting up into the chairs was a challenge for me.  I never sat there.  So, they are awaiting a trip to the consignment shop.  We do have a wonderful antique game table that went into the breakfast room, but we needed two very comfy chairs.  Pier One to the rescue.  We absolutely love the style of these chairs, they are super comfy AND they were deep discounted.  Of course, we had to travel from one side of  Marietta to Buckhead to find two, but it was well worth it.  A trip to Home Goods and the clearance shelves produced this exquisite vase that we use as a planter.  Zing! Bling! in the breakfast room.  Yummy!

Now, out to the back porch.  This time of year is gorgeous with the leaves falling and the temperatures too, right where we like them - 65-75.  Our next stop was one of our favorite Goodwill stores.  Bill discovered this perfect outdoor game table in the back of the store.  Originally priced at $40, then reduced to $25, today it was on sale for 50% off.  So, for $12.50 we have a super game table on the porch.  Over the winter I will refinish the base, but the fomica top is perfect for games and the occasional outdoor messy craft project, or a quiet, romantic dinner for two, or tea, or...  What a fun day!
